Pursuant to the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1681b(b)(2)(A)
Standalone Disclosure — Please Read Carefully
Victory Home Services, LLC(“Victory”) may obtain a consumer report (background check) about you in connection with your application to become an independent service professional on the Victory platform, and may obtain such reports at any time during the course of your relationship with Victory, for the purposes described below.
This document is provided to you as a standalone disclosure, separately from any other agreement or document, as required by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).
1. Who Will Conduct the Background Check
Background checks will be conducted by Checkr, Inc., a consumer reporting agency located at:
Checkr, Inc.1 Montgomery Street, Suite 2000
San Francisco, CA 94104
Phone: (844) 824-3257
checkr.com
Checkr is accredited by the National Association of Professional Background Screeners (NAPBS).
2. Type of Report
The consumer report may include information related to your:
- Criminal history (national, federal, county, and state records);
- Sex offender registry status;
- Global watchlist and sanctions screening;
- Social Security Number (SSN) trace and identity verification;
- Any other information permitted by applicable law and Victory's screening package.
Victory uses Checkr's Basic+ or comparable screening package. The specific searches conducted may vary based on the services you intend to provide and applicable state law.
3. Purpose of the Background Check
The consumer report will be used to evaluate your eligibility as an independent service professional on the Victory platform. This constitutes an “employment purpose” as defined under the FCRA, 15 U.S.C. §§ 1681a(h), 1681b(b). Specifically, Victory requires background checks to:
- Help ensure the safety of customers who invite vendors into their homes;
- Comply with platform trust and safety standards;
- Meet applicable insurance and liability requirements;
- Operate consistently with the Amazon Home Services marketplace model Victory follows.
4. Your Rights Under the FCRA
Before Victory may obtain a consumer report about you, it must receive your written authorization. That authorization is collected separately during the vendor registration process. You have the right to:
- Refuse authorization — You are not required to authorize a background check. However, authorization is a prerequisite for approval as a Victory vendor.
- Receive a copy of your report — If you request it within a reasonable time after your authorization, Victory will inform you whether a report was procured and provide you the name and address of the consumer reporting agency.
- Pre-adverse action notice — If Victory intends to take any adverse action based on the consumer report (such as denying or suspending your vendor account), Victory will provide you with:
- A copy of the consumer report;
- A written description of your rights under the FCRA (Summary of Rights); and
- A reasonable opportunity (at least five business days) to review the report and dispute any inaccurate or incomplete information before the adverse action is finalized.
- Dispute inaccurate information — If you believe any information in the report is inaccurate or incomplete, you may dispute it directly with Checkr, Inc. at the address above.
A full summary of your rights under the FCRA is available at victoryhomeservices.net/fcra-rights and at consumerfinance.gov/learnmore.
5. Confidentiality & Use Limitation
Consumer reports obtained by Victory are:
- Used solely for the purpose stated in Section 3 above and for no other purpose;
- Kept strictly confidential and not shared with customers, other vendors, or any third party except as required by law or as described in our Privacy Policy;
- Accessible only to designated Victory personnel with a legitimate need to know;
- Securely destroyed or de-identified when no longer required for legal or compliance purposes.
